Extreme emotion or extreme reaction! Extremity of anything is bad, I used to get extremely happy or extremely sad depending on the situation. I have changed over time, and I try and not let myself get to the extremely sad state. Again, I haven't mastered the art. But I am sure I will. Have to keep things simple, not over react. Things will happen the way its supposed to, we can only try. The Bhagawatgeeta words are lingering in my mind - "Do the things that you want to do without expecting anything out of it" Wow, that's so tough! But to be really happy we need to follow that. I think it comes down to my older point - enjoy the journey rather than waiting for the results. Just go with the flow :) We shud realize that its not our duty to think and over think about the way some things are. I am not saying we should sit idle, do the things u r supposed to do/want to do. Beyond that, let it go.
Writing helps clear my mind, so I had to write down all the above things :) Feeling lighter now.
Getting back to lighter things, have to write about my morning walk -
pink, lavendar, yellow
It was the pink season last month, then lavendar season few weeks back, and now its yellow season :D.
Ok I am talking about the colors on the trees, the flowers that are blooming these days - lovely, picturesque, beautiful!!

So many thoughts, so many thoughts always on my mind. A keeps telling me to think one thing at a time, do one thing at a time and concentrate on that one thing I am doing. I am trying, yet to excel in that. I went for a walk alone today, and I did not want to think about anything. Walk always relaxes me, so am glad I start off my days with walk/cycling. Today, I consciously did not want any random thoughts in my mind while walking. So I started narrating whatever I saw on the road in my mind, like tress full of yellow flowers, newspaper boy on a cycle, joggers, dog etc. It may sound silly, but it helped in keeping my mind on what I was doing :)
I should consciously start concentrating on one thing every time.

Something new
Apr 12
Its been a 3 day weekend and am going back to work now.
Lot of new things over the weekend. One of them being, me roaming around on my kine :) Sat was the kine day - went to 4th blk to get photos printed for mom, parlor for my hair cut (cut it short, its summer!), back home, went to mom's house, had lunch, headed back. In between visited rajarathnam with A to get few things repaired. Feels good to ride around on my own after many years.
I started off with cycle, promoted myself to kine :D Good job :p :p
Sunday, I went out with a friend and had fun. We had decided to go out at least once a month, so started off on that this week. We did some shopping, had lunch, chatted, had T - gooooood time :)
I was again thinking about all the things I want to do "after I quit my current job". The list keeps growing. I know I shouldn't be postponing the things for future. I have started on few things. Finally it comes down to my priorities. Right now I have my hands full, so I am going to take it easy for a while and enjoy the things I am doing now.
Moment of the day - one of the trees had its branches spread out sooo wide, it touched the other side of the road, was beautiful!

Sitting in my balcony right now. We had a long weekend. Roads are quite and less busy, today being a holiday. I love sitting outside our house, feel so relaxed and calm whenever I sit here. It has been a great weekend. To be honest, our weekends are good all the time. But this one has been extra great because of so many things - cricket, cycle, kine!
Started off Sat by cycling in the morning, met a cuz who had a kid recently, dropped A to office, had bagel-cream cheese with tea at Au Bon Paun with mil and A, spent some time at friend's new house and settled down for the big finale with loot of snack items :) Mom and few friends joined us for the match.
Sunday, cycle ride to mom's house at 6 am, coffee at her house, back home by 7.30 - covered 10km, the ride back was quite an upslope ride, am surprised I could make it without stopping :) And the best part is I dont have body pain :). Went on the bullet to a friend's place for breakfast - yummy omelet and waffles with kirkland maple syrup (thanks Jo/T). Finished some work on the way back home. Took a small nap, and went out shopping for habba :D. I like to buy clothes for everyone during all the big habbas - a practice that we have been following since childhood. When we were kids, we used to look forward to the habbas and birthdays as that was the time when we all bought clothes. Used to be so much fun and excitement surrounding the festivals and special occasions. Generally that was the only time people shopped for clothes. So I want to continue doing that :). Bought a summery pant/skirt for myself, shirt for A, kurta for A, tshirt for C and simple cotton saree for both moms. Visited friend's place with amma/appa in the evening to see their new house - very nicely built, spacious, with 3 huge stained glass windows in the living room - the glasses are very beautiful and perfect. They fit so well in the house, great piece of work Shantala. We had tea, cabbage bajji in their lawn and returned home after a while. I made sabji and A made chapathis for dinner.
Woke up early and went on a bike ride with cuz today. Did around 6km. I ride very slow, so A and P asked me to take a shorter route and they covered around 4km extra before joining me. It was fun, rode for an hour, and I managed in traffic today, but I have to get rid of my fear of traffic. We were back by 7.15, then suddenly decided to get my kine from mom's place. Everyone had been telling me to start driving since last 4 years. I finally drove my kinetic back home, felt sooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooood :D. I could drive aaramse in traffic and I was enjoying the drive :) This was my first kinetic, the one I used to drive earlier. Lot of sweet memories. Had yenne neeru, ate bevu bella, went to mom's house, was supposed to help her in cooking but she had finished everything by the time I reached. Had a habbada oota - puliyogre, mosaranna, saaru, kosambari, jamoon, shavige payasa, aloo bonda - menu prepared by son-in-law!! After the heavy meal, had to sleep for sometime :) Great habba!
The Radio always used to play the below song on Ugadi morning, when we were kids -
Uga Ugadi kaledaru, ugadi marali baruthide, hosa varushake, hosa harushava, hosathu hosathu tarutide, hosathu hosathu tarutide..

Siiiiiiiiix - India winning the cric world cup!
April 3rd, 2011
India won the cricket world cup! After 28 years. The first and last time they had won was at Lord's in 1983. MS Dhoni led the team to a fabulous and outstanding win!! I sound like Ravi shastry now :) But it was really a great match to watch. My favorite team members are Dhoni and Sachin. It is Sachin's last world cup and the whole team dedicated the cup to him. Yuvraj - man of the series, MS man of the finals match. He scored an unbeaten 91 in 88 balls with a super sixer in the end that closed the match.
We were wearing India blue t-shirts which we bought on the day of the finals :) Of course we were in blue the whole of last week.
We went on a 6 mile bike ride this morning, to commemorate the 6 wicket win by India, hehehe :D I just made that up, but we really did go on a 6 m ride. Slept late after watching the match last night, woke up with a broad smile on our face :D, Indians are the world champions! Imagine how the players are feeling!
There are no enough words to describe about the India - SL match. So am going to stop here.

Cycling Story
Wow
Apr 2, 7 am
Yeah, wow because am back home after riding the cycle for the first time after we moved back.
I learned to cycle when I was in middle school, may be when I was in 6th or 7th std. I take a long time to learn anything. We had bought a second hand pale red color ladies cycle. Anna used to teach me every morning. I used to be so scared, finally I don't know after how many days, I was able to cycle on my own :) I think I cycled for a few years, then we gave away the cycle. We moved to Delhi, then to Mysore.
I realize now how much cycling has helped me over the years. After my engineering, I moved back to Blore. That's when we bought a kinetic honda. Since I knew cycling, it was easier for me to learn the kine. My brother taught me how to ride and I managed to drive around the city :) I used to goto work on my kine for 2 years. Then I moved to the US. A had a geared cycle which I loved riding. One of us used to jog, and the other cycle. After we came back, I have been dreaming about riding a cycle. The muhurath came today, thanks to A, who borrowed 2 cycles from friends yesterday.
Felt so good to ride the bike :) Started off around 6 and came back by 645. The cold fresh air on my face, LOVED it!
