My Birthday!!

Am one blessed soul :D

I had a wonderful day on my bday! It was so simple and yet one of the most beautiful days of my life.

I left work early on Friday around 3. Best way to start off a bday weekend is by pampering yourself. I went to bodycraft, a parlor I had never been to. I should call this  a mini spa resort. Even though its on a main road, once you are inside its a different world. Got a facial and a haircut done, just took the hair stylist's suggestion and got a U cut done. I like it :)

Friday night was Tata photon's Bombay Vikings night at Gayatri vihar! Had so much fun grooving to all the hit bollywood songs! I knew all the songs (except 2) that Neeraj Sridhar was singing so I enjoyed the most I guess :) I fell in love with hindi songs all over again.

Saturday morning walk at Lalbagh for one hour was so refreshing! Lalbagh is just amazingly beautiful - so many trees, lake, flower gardens, huge area and its so close to home! I would love to walk here at least once a week. After the walk we ate freshly cut jackfruit (my favorite) and bought mangoes. And yes, we HAD to close it with a heavy breakfast at Koshys :)

Koshys

Saturday was BGC time for us, we like the place. Mantri mall, Au Bon Pain (o bo pe), T at friend's place, roaming around in the rain, Crossword book store and Mainland China completed our Saturday.

Sunday morning we headed out for a walk at BGC and stopped at Windsor Manor for chai. But the buffet breakfast that was set was too tempting to resist :D. Had an awesome breakfast and of course chai and walked backed back to bgc.

One of my cousins had been to Kailash Parvatha in the Himalayas. (Yes, its an amazing experience!) So he had invited family for the pooja. It was good to attend the pooja and I got to see my 98years old thatha on my bday :)

Sunday evening went to temple, had been a long time since I visited. Mom, bro, cuz came home and we ordered food from 1947. My sil had got yummy 3 layered -strawberry, chocolate, vanilla cake :) It was fun!

Thanks everyone!
It was really good to meet/talk to so many people :)

So now everyone agrees I am one lucky girl? :D :D

Fun stuff

We had a great, well deserved weekend. Started off Friday evening with cooking :) Had been a long time since I did and I enjoyed a lot. It was a simple dinner - dhal and potato capsicum curry - with chapathis. It was really good. I love coriander leaves and I garnish almost everything with this. So my dhal and curry were full of coriander leaves which added to the taste.

After dinner we went for a drive with pit stops at naturals ice cream and mom's place. Jackfruit ice cream was very yummy. My all time favorite is definitely mango :) We met friends later in the night and drove down to mg road. Had our 550d, so we walked along mg road, brigade and church street taking pictures. Got to see the trial run of blore metro, waiting for it to start off. Coffee at the new coffee shop called matteo was gooood. After coffee hung out with friends at Tavern and headed back home.

Saturday morning was bike time from 7 to 9. We rode on kanakapura road for about 35km, and then on nice road. Was fun! Stayed at mom's place after the ride, had super breakfast and lunch :) Then it was time for my shopping as there were lot of sales! Had a good time with M, coffee day and shoppp. Dinner at Sunnys with A after a very long was nice. Met friends at The Biere Club later that night where I saw puneet rajkumar (kannada movie star). I love this place, we get freshly brewed beer :D, wheat being my favorite!

Sunday morning headed out to Jakkur on the bullet to a friend's place. On our way, stopped at palace grounds where a friend trains horses. He forced me to sit on one and ride around for few minutes! It was my first horse ride, was good :)

Back home by 1 on Sunday, had lot of small house work. Evening we went for a walk in lalbagh with friends. Lalbagh is a nice huge garden. I got time to relax at home after our walk, which was a nice way to wind down before the weekend ended.

Wow, we have done a lot of things! I guess its all about interest, if we like something, we find ways and time to do it. There are so many things I want to do all the time. My 'to do' list keeps growing everyday. I need to get better at concentrating on one thing at a time. Have to stop being hard on myself for not being able to do everything in a day. I will get there :)

June 17, 12.12pm

Today is the day I met A 6 years back! Its a nice feeling :)

May be I should write about that day. We had exchanged many emails and had many phone calls before we decided to meet. I was in California at my friend's place hunting for a job. A flew down to Cali on a Friday night. He wanted me to come to the airport which I refused to do so (me being adamant about certain things). He drove down to my friend's place, where we met for the first time. We went for a drive, and then had ice cream on our way. It was really nice. I mean it was simple. We just talked about general stuff. He is very down to earth, speaks whats on his mind without sweet-coating. It was a very casual outing :)

A always tells me to simplify my life. And its very easy to keep everything simple. Be honest to yourself, speak what you feel, instead of worrying what the other person will think about you, do things immediately without over-analyzing or postponing, if things don't go your way, move on to the next option. I know its not as easy as it sounds, but if we really try, it is possible. I am a live example for this :D. I am not bragging about myself, but I have come a long way from where I started. So if I can do it, I feel anyone can.

Moment of the day - (its something different this time) - Me doing 25 suryanamaskars. I have been organized enough this week to exercise one hour daily in the morning :)

Dont worry, be happy

Rain rain, so pleasant!!

It cheers me up instantly :) -- only when I haven't planned to step out of the house :)

Had a nice cup of tea with haldiram mixture :p

I have started working from home since the first of this month. I goto office twice a week to finish all the meetings. I used to think I will be able to do loot of non-office work in between, but I haven't been able to. I am so tied up with work that I don't even get up from the seat for hours! And the best part is I have started enjoying my work a lot. Its strange, because just a few months back I was at a phase where I just wanted to quit everything. I am realizing now that during those times, I was calm, because somehow I always felt that a solution will pop up in front of me. This is just one example in my life. Everytime I am stuck, a solution or an option or a new opportunity shows up for all my problems.

Its not only about my life. I strongly believe that everyone can face and solve any problem in their lives because eventually a solution is always bound to occur from nowhere. I am not saying we have to just sit idle and wait for things to get better. We have to do what is required for that situation, and all along, believing that things will turn out well. So the key here is "patience" and "belief".

Moment of the day - Watching the heavy rain fall from my balcony, and sipping tea :D
