The 2 words "Let Go" are such powerful words. Over the years, I have come to realize that the only way to lead a happy and content life is to let go of the things and move on with life. Let go of feelings, let go of fear, let go of materialistic things, basically letting go of anything that stands as a blocking rock in our mind.
I am not sure if I will be able to translate my exact thoughts into words. I can say that 'let go' can be a synonym for accepting things the way they are. Letting the mind free. Most of the time we want to be in control of everything in our life. We want things to happen exactly the way we have planned or imagined. Our mind goes into a chaotic state the minute something goes differently. When I was in college, doing my bachelors degree, I used to get very upset whenever my friends cancelled on me. I remember this one incident, when my room-mate and I were waiting for our guy friends to pick us up as we had planned to have dinner outside. Due to some reason, they called and said they cannot come. I was so disappointed. The reason I am remembering this incident now is because I had told my room-mate that I hate when things don't go as planned.
That was long back. I have realized now that the only way I can control my life is by letting go.
Our view
I had the TV on, and laptop in front of me and I have been trying to write for the last 42 minutes. I finally turned off the TV and started writing. I realized I cannot do 2 things at the same time!
Its been a long time since I sat in front of the TV, so I just left the TV at the music channel and tried writing the blog as well. A very interesting ad for Coco-Cola was coming on the TV. The following words show up on the screen, during the whole ad -
For a tank built in the world..
1,31,000 stuffed toys are made
For a fence someone puts up..
15,00,000 "welcome mats" are placed
While there are some ignoring the environment..
30,00,000 trees are being planted everyday
For every grown-up who can't write his name..
There are 15 kids who can read a fair tale
Love has more hits than fear
While some believe we are nearing the end..
There are 50,00,000 people sending new year wishes
While some fight over petty issues..
Millions share a coco cola everyday
I really LOVE this ad, mainly because it just shows how one can look at things in a positive way at everything. I don't know about the numbers, but even if the above numbers are not correct, even a single positive instance happening for all the n number of bad things is good enough.
I honestly believe that we can always find positivity in everything, if we only LOOK. Every situation will have 2 sides to it. And most of the time, the negativity stands out to us. This may be because we want to be cautious about the 'worst case' scenarios. Its all about choosing what we want to see.
If we really read the above lines from the ad, we can actually come up with a brighter and a dull side for all the situations happening in our life. Don't you think?

2012
Happy New Year!
Its 2012, my first post of the year :)
It has been an exciting 2011 with looot of good things and lot of learnings. I can say we have partied through out the year, and we welcomed 2012 quietly at home.
I hope I can overcome my weaknesses, laugh more, travel more, relax more, exercise more, spend more time with my dear ones this year!
