Just Cycle :)

Have been contemplating about buying a cycle since last few months. Last week, finally, I borrowed a friend's cycle to figure out if I really wanted to cycle everyday. The front brakes of the cycle were not working, as the brake pad was broken. Tried fixing it the same day, but none of the 4 shops we checked had the screw we needed. But I wanted to start riding from the next day. So rode a short distance with just the back brakes.

So here starts my cycling story. Started cycling on a 'Magna Glacier Point', on a Friday morning (Sep 14). Rode around 3km near the house. Almost flat roads all the way. And I think I took around 30minutes!!

Sunday, started around 6am. I was all geared up. Rode 4km in 40 min to Pnagar. Pit stop for water and coffee. Started back around 7am from Pnagar. It was uphill throughout, and I had to get down and walk twice for 20 feet each time. Got back by 7.30am. So took 30 min roughly. Was so much fun! Total distance travelled was 8.5km

Friday, started around 6.10am - nanda road - south end circle - gunasheela nursing home circle - south end circle - Madhvan Park - Jnagar 4th block - Home = 5.6km 30 min

Saturday, one of the best rides so far :) I crossed the 10k mark :)

Borrowed a Trek 7100 from a store nearby. The cycle was awesome. It made such a huge difference to my ride! Gears are super smooth, and the brakes perfect. Left around 6am, went on Nanda Road - South End Circle - Cafe Mondo - VV Puram circle - JC Road - Urvashi theatre - Nanda Road - South end circle - Madhvan Park - Asoka Pillar - Jnagar 4th Block - home = 11.75 km in 53 minutes. And this time, I was not exhausted during the whole stretch of the ride. Am so HAPPY :D

LOVE cycling :)

Thinking of buying a cycle as I am really enjoying it. Went to the cycle store "Bums on the Saddle" to checkout different kinds of bikes. The one I rode on Saturday was a hybrid bike - mid between a road bike and a mountain bike. Choices are "Trek" which is 28k and "Bergmont Helix 3.2" which is 30k.

The other kind is a MTB - mountain bike - more suitable for rough roads, and mountain area. Choices are "Trek" which is 22k and "Bergmont" which is 28k. But I am yet to ride a MTB cycle.

Tuesday - Sep 25
Borrowed a Trek MTB bike from BOTS to try it out. Loved it. Did 11.6 km aaramse in 47 minutes. The major difference I could feel is that its more stable, as the tyres are very broad compared to a hybrid. Have to read up other differences between a hybrid and a MTB.

A Perfect Morning

It has been for me today :)

Woke up at 5.50am and went for a cycle ride with A. Roads are almost empty at this time of the day and the air so fresh! The weather is always perfect in the morning. After a beautiful ride, got back home. It was time to cook. Made rasam and beans palya. Cut an apple and a pomegranate, squeezed moosambi. Packed everything in boxes for A.

And by 7.45 I was done with exercising and cooking. Thats just what I want on a Friday morning. By 8.15, I am fresh, ready to have my dosa for breakfast and of course I will have masala tea in my balcony :)

I can start work by 8.45am.

Perfect isn't it? :D :)

I love my mornings :)
