Last week I was watching a movie on TV, it was about a rich guy wanting to swim along with sharks in the ocean.
Why does anyone want to swim next to a shark? Just for the
thrill of it? To do something out of the ordinary? To show the
world that he is not a commoner?
It made me think. Many of us are always craving to do
something outside the box, something brave, something that very few
people have done, something exciting. If we are not doing something
special on a regular basis, we consider our life to be dull. I am writing about this because I am like
that. And I realized that to lead a content life, we should just be
happy with the little things we have in life. We do not need that extra
bungee jumping to make us reach cloud 9. We can be "cloud 9" happy
without doing anything. Most of us need that x factor in our life to
keep us going and to be motivated on a daily basis.
Since last few months I have started telling myself that I
want to lead a simple life. The simple life our parents lead, is missing
now. The simple life where people were content with the daily chores
they were doing. Life was good, with less expectations from everything.
People valued the smaller things. That is what kept everything simple.
Let's enjoy the everyday life, the daily chores we do, the small
insignificant things we do, which makes life complete. And the bigger things are formed out of these tiny things :)
